What are the Top 50 News Websites in the World?

THE BBC was the fastest-growing news website in the world in May according to the latest rankings released by British trade magazine Press Gazette.

The UK broadcaster’s website received 1.1 billion visits in May which was an increase of nine per cent from April.

The rankings, complied by software development and data aggregation company, Similarweb data saw MSN in second place with 686 million (up one per cent month on month) and New York Times third on 685.5 million (up four per cent MoM).

CNN on 563.5 million (up one per cent) and Google News on 382 million (up three per cent) completed the top five. The highest performing UK newspaper website was The Guardian in sixth with 368.2 million (up one per cent MoM) visits in May followed by the Daily Mail on 364.9 million (flat MoM).
Fox News was eighth on 292 million but up eight per cent MoM, while India Times collected 287.9 million visits and Yahoo Finance on 248.2 million (up two per cent) made up the rest of the Top 10.

Other UK newspaper websites in the Top 50 included The Sun, The Independent, Daily Express, Daily Mirror and the Daily Telegraph. Sky and Reuters also featured.
