LAMDA Case Study

LAMDA

Client: London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA)
Service: Public Relations (PR)

The Background: The London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) is a world-leading drama school and examinations provider, which has been training and inspiring exceptional artists for over 160 years. LAMDA graduates include Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock, TV), Ruth Wilson (The Affair, TV), Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia!, Film), Sam Claflin (Me Before You, Film), Anna Chancellor (Spooks, TV), Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave, Film) and Harriet Walter (Downton Abbey, TV).

The Challenge: The aim of the PR campaign was to create an exciting and varied range of stories to ‘bring to life’ the highlights of studying at LAMDA. The role of SCS Marketing and PR was to showcase the many outstanding features which collectively combine to make LAMDA the most respected school for music and dramatic arts in the UK and beyond. The key was to open a window into the world of LAMDA and share insights into the teamwork, innovation and creativity that happens behind the scenes.

The Solution: The SCS Marketing and PR team created a comprehensive PR calendar schedule, and prioritised, composed, distributed, followed-up and reported on PR stories from the campaign. The PR team also handled all press enquiries and acted on media attention swiftly and effectively. As part of SCS’s comprehensive PR service, we were also able to provide an PR Amplification Service, 24/7 Press Office and PR Alerts direct-to-inbox system. SCS Marketing and PR’s management team acted as an extension to the in-house marketing team with weekly catch-up calls and daily updates, creating opportunities to share new ideas and insights which enriched the ongoing campaign.

The Results: SCS Marketing and PR continues to secure, consistent press coverage for LAMDA spotlighting general news pieces, stories on arts funding, awards highlights and actor bios, backstage and technical advancements, course developments in line with current industry needs, broadcast, dance, hot topics, management, production, training, opinion pieces and many, many more. In Q1, SCS secured gained earned media coverage worth £38,975 to an audience of 9,585,026 in just three months.
