The Background: Christopher Montrose Coffee are curators, creators and roasters of some of the finest speciality and gourmet coffee blends, single estate and single origin coffees. Focused on wholesale, they enjoy the patronage of many great chefs, restaurants, caterers and coffee shops and an ever-growing list of private individuals who have sought them out after seriously enjoying some of their fine coffees.
The Challenge: Christopher Montrose Coffee wanted to expand on their social media presence. The challenge was two-fold: attract new wholesale distributors and encourage individuals to buy through their e-commerce site.
The Solution: SCS worked locally in Suffolk using a ‘land and expand’ methodology. We reached out through social to suppliers who were active on Facebook and Instagram, followed, liked and shared their content. In exchange they shouted out the brand and relationships were forged.
We were also able to create case studies from existing suppliers to showcase the fantastic coffee experience offered by the brand and attract and retain wholesale business.
Harnessing word of mouth, as well as taking a non-automated, person to person approach, we worked on promoting Christopher Montrose with our qualified influencer contacts. Once an influencer expressed an interest, SCS provided samples for them to review and enjoy. We also provided 24/7 care and technical support on new features where required, to maximise creative output and coverage opportunities for the brand.
Thanks to our fantastic content creators, we were not only able to expand the reach of the brand, but on a number of occasions we were given permission to use some of the beautiful imagery produced by our influencer contacts across the brand’s own social media platforms. SCS Marketing and PR’s channel management team acted as an extension to the in-house marketing team with weekly catch-up calls and daily updates, as well as sharing new ideas to enrich the campaign.
The Results: Through their social media platforms, the positive power of word of mouth generated a tailwind for their products and created an ongoing chatter around the brand with weekly branded posts, plus a mixture of grid posts, reels and stories, bringing the brand experience to life and increasing take up and use of their unique discount codes.
The busy and popular campaign was cost effective and highly targeted, connecting with new prospects who in turn promoted the brand.
Across the course of the campaign, SCS Marketing & PR connected Christopher Montrose Coffee with influencers whose posts were viewed by a collective reach of a 2.5m sized captive audience. All influencers posted either a grid post, reel or stories and some even repurposed their content to other platforms, such as TikTok.
